Where we left off...we wanted to get the slab poured for our pole building. We kept making appointments, but it always seemed to want to rain only the day of the week that we had set-up and we would have to reschedule.
The ground has been prepped and ready for a few weeks. We set up yet another appointment only to find that it was the only day that week forecasting rain. We kept hoping that the timing on the rain would change. We definitely did not want the rain to ruin the finish on the poured slab. I went to town and purchased the largest roll of plastic I could find in case we had to tent the slab. We did not want to cancel again. No matter what, it was going to be pouring!
The crew showed up before the sun did yesterday. There was a chance that they could beat the rain and have time for the slab to set-up enough that heavy water drops wouldn't matter. It was cold out, so Eddie got some pretty cool shots of the pour and the steam coming from the mix.
We kept an eye on the weather and the radar. Every once in a while, there would be some small misting drops. But the guys finished, and the slab looks great!
It was so cold outside that the concrete did not want to set very quickly. Eddie kept an eye on it and the sky for the rest of the day while he was working out there. Today he will score it with a saw while it is still soft. Soon we can begin erecting the pole building itself. We are excited to be moving forward on this project again. Every task brings us closer to getting ETC Designs in full production.
Thank you for joining us on this journey! I will leave you with some photos of Madrone and nature that I took yesterday while on a walk with Krusoe. Best wishes! ETC Designs
